The American Hospital in Dubai is particularly renowned for its breast clinic, heart centre, total joint replacement and cancer care centre, all of which are regarded as centres of excellence among the expatriate community. Accreditation

The American Hospital Dubai was the first hospital in the Middle East to be awarded Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), while the hospital’s Medical Laboratory has been accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). All the hospital’s physicians are North American Board certified, or otherwise have received accreditation from equivalent Western training programs.

All of our international health insurance policies cover treatment at the American Hospital Dubai, and have direct billing arrangements to ensure that paying for your treatment is simple and hassle-free. Local policies by AXA Gulf and Daman, it should be noted, do not cover inpatient treatment at this facility.

As of April 2013, current outpatient direct billing insurers for individual and family cover include Oman Insurance & Bupa Global, NOW Health (AXA), Aetna (RSA) and Mednet Gold.

Most expats staying at the American Hospital Dubai opt for a standard room, the cost of which is inclusive of  meals and a range of room facilities such as cable TV and internet access. These rooms, moreover, are ensuite, and cost AED 1500 per night. VIP rooms and Presidential suites are also available at the hospital.

Detailed packages exist, furthermore,  for some of the hospital’s specialist procedures. These packages include, but are not limited to, angiography (AED 10900), angioplasty (from AED 48500), single and bi-laternal knee replacements (a single replacement costs AED 75000), cardiology and dermatology. Moreover, the hospital offers seven detailed maternity packages, including ante-natal, normal delivery (AED 11950) and delivery by caesarian section (AED 22950), as well as the option of ‘essentials’ or ‘alternative’  well-man and well-woman packages.

In addition, the hospital is in the process of expanding to a 344-bed facility.
